Theme

Design
Website customization by yours truly. Read more about me. I am not a website designer but over the years I have picked up enough PHP knowledge to be fairly handy with WordPress.
Web Host
FutureQuest is my host of choice. I have used them for about 10 years and wouldn't dream of switching. It's a typical LAMP setup — Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP.
Backup / Security
I use several WordPress plugins for this:
BackWPup sends nightly backups to Amazon S3. Akismet, Bad Behavior and NoSpamNX keep spammers and bots off the site.
Offsite Storage
This site uses both Amazon S3 and Photobucket for offsite storage of files and images.
CDN
Amazon Cloudfront is my CDN of choice. It is dirt cheap (around $1/month) and has edge locations around the world to serve content quickly. I use S3 Browser to manage files.
Icons / Images / Artwork
Most of the "artwork" on this site is screenshots from Excel or VBA I made myself. Icons and images, where not provided by plugins or Microsoft clip art, were "borrowed" from various places across the web. Apologies to the original authors but I simply did not keep track of every site I visited. If I find out where they came from I will update this page accordingly.

For screenshots I use Alt+PrtSc (whole windows and dialog boxes) and the Windows Snipping Tool (clip art, spreadsheets). To minimize file size I use PNGcrush and Smush.it.
For drawing website elements I use Excel's Drawing toolbar and Paint.NET.
